Sony have announced three new compact primes, the FE 24mm f/2.8 G, FE 40mm f/2.5 G and FE 50mm f/2.5G. A full announcement with specs can be found here.

It’s good to see Sony expanding their lineup with all different options. How popular these lenses will be is something that will be interesting to see. For me personally, I don’t feel they would be of that much interest to me if I was still shooting Sony, purely due to the slower apertures. At $599 USD each, you may be better off going for offerings from Tamron and Sigma but that is purely personal opinion.
